BALANCE

No matter what book you read, no matter what discussion paper you open, sooner or later you will be told to be ‘in balance’. Well, I have news for you. You may not want to hear it, but nothing worthwhile was ever achieved while ‘in balance’!

Ouch, stop throwing tomatoes.  Think about it. YOUR life, whatever major event in it, whatever leap forward you ever made, you didn’t make it while sitting comfortably in the middle. I put it to you that every major achievement or turning point in your life came when you were on the edge of your existence…excited, thrilled, scared. Whether you finally had that great date with a ‘future beloved’ or even a ‘short term victory’ you had to take action outside of your comfort zone, outside of balance!

When you bought your first car, you were thrilled/scared, when you bought your first house – OMG – you were thrilled /scared (when I was a branch manager, my salespeople had a ‘buyer’s blues kit’ for first time buyers) and much more so, on your first investment property.

I talked to REAGGIE Dustan Woodhouse who has thought a lot about the subject and says: “If you want to excel and do more than xxxx in mortgages – you can’t go home at 5 o’clock.”

I suggest in real estate achievement you cannot do it from being ‘in balance’ either. Success is unnatural achieved by the minority of people. Yep, and those that achieve a lot do it by stretching themselves into the unknown, walking through fear and then get that thrill of victory when they accomplish what they had planned!

So –  stretch, get into the unfamiliar action and once completed sit in balance for (just) a bit…and then go stretch yourself further.

Review: 77 Actions Handout (you can still do this)

Ok, so you thought last month you would do it and well time went by and you didn’t. Don’t beat yourself up IF – I mean – IF you make your list now. All 77? No, but the ones that get you out of balance into action….maybe 2 health goals, maybe 2 for the mind, 2 real estate goals. Goals that YOU want to achieve.

Remember Richard Branson… WRITE IT DOWN!!!

CHINESE NEW YEAR OF THE DOG
2018 is year of the Dog
. Interesting enough (talk about history!) 2018 is the 4715th Chinese Year.

Dog is the eleventh in the 12-year cycle of Chinese zodiac sign.

The Years of the Dog include 1922, 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006, 2018, 2030, 2042…

2) NEXT ACTION PLAN/GOAL SETTING MEETINGS:

Next Action Plan Meeting is Monday, February 12th at 5:30 (Alpen House before the monthly meeting).Action plan meetings are the foundation of your REAG membership. At these informal meetings, there are no wrong answers. Groups of approximately 10 members share their goals and develop specific 3- day “action plans” to bring them to reality. Earl Nightingale said, “Success is the progressive realization of a worthwhile goal”. At the action plan meetings, we celebrate small successes and acknowledge everyone’s progress. The idea is to keep focused on a monthly basis and get into action. It’s all part of the process of “growing into your future best”. Sign up today!

Take a look at your own private member section. Create your own team, post your deals with photos, and respond to other deals directly with the posting member. Use it! We developed it with YOU in mind. Feedback is welcome and appreciated.

4) Don’t forget to use the DEALS section

You will find it on our website at https://www.reag.ca/forum/hot-deals/ as a place to post for your deals. If you haven’t used it, TRY IT! It is so simple to submit. You are able to include photos of the property as well as all the details directly to other REAG members.

5) SUBMIT YOUR GOOD DEALS TO OZZIE AND RALPH

Ozzie is always looking for great deals to be featured potentially on Michael Campbell’s CKNW Radio Show and its free. You get exposure to thousands of investors! Send your deals to Ozzie no later than Thursday night for inclusion in the following week.

6) SOCIAL MEDIA

7) Elevator speeches

If you have an accompanying PowerPoint presentation, you must send it to us at least 24 hours before the monthly meetings! Try cutting down to 3 slides! We cannot guarantee PowerPoint presentations will be available if they are sent to us less than 24 hours in advance.

8) Submit your offers!

Don’t forget to submit your offers at each meeting to be entered into our Wine Bottle or REAG Shirt draw! They must be real offers, not chicken scratches on a piece of paper. They do not have to have been accepted offers, the idea is to MAKE OFFERS. Show and tell and win!
